Areas of Treatment

Anxiety & Panic Attacks

Anxiety can manifest as a formidable force, encompassing symptoms like sleepless nights, racing thoughts and an inability to fully participate in daily life. These manifestations offer valuable insights into the presence of cognitive distortions or inaccurate beliefs that magnify negative thinking patterns. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that anxiety does not have to dictate one’s existence.

Intertwined with anxiety are panic attacks, which can be profoundly debilitating. The brain mistakenly triggers the “fight or flight” response, perceiving imminent danger even when there is no real threat. This leads to distressing physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, excessive sweating and trembling. To avoid future panic attacks, individuals may start avoiding specific locations, people or situations where such episodes have previously occurred. Unfortunately, this fear-driven avoidance limits one’s ability to live a fulfilling life.

By engaging in therapy, it becomes possible to identify potential triggers and underlying belief systems that contribute to the intensity of anxiety and panic. By collectively recognizing irrational thoughts and anxious expectations, clients learn effective tools and coping mechanisms that foster constructive and positive self-dialogue. Through dedicated practice and effective strategies, individuals can reduce the impact of anxiety, thus expanding their horizons and embracing new opportunities.
